Fall 2000

Letter from the Chairman

This season I am happy to introduce three new managers
at Artists Talk On Art: Sara Kay, our new executive director;
Molly Barnes, our incoming programming director and
Betty Sword, our new assistant executive director for administration.
Sara is a native of New Yorker who is assistant gallery manager
of the Museum of American Folk Art. A graduate of the University of
Buffalo in art history, magna cum laude, she also holds a certificate
in Restoration and Conservation from the Medici Institute in Florence,
Italy. You will be seeing Sara most Friday evenings announcing the
panels, but her real skills will be put to raising funds and organizing
everyone (does that ever stop?).

Molly is well known to artists, collectors and writers on both coasts.
She has run her Los Angeles gallery for over 15 years and is now
planning to spend the bulk of her time in New York, where she has a
residence. For 7 years Molly has programmed her own "Brown Bag Lunch"
art presentations at the Roger Smith Hotel in midtown several weeks
a year. Now Molly plans to bring her broad knowledge of the art world
and panel organizing skills to the members of our programming committee,
taking over from Amy Ernst who is stepping down from the post after
adeptly programming this fall's season.

Listed in Who's Who in America, Betty is a highly regarded feminist artist
with over forty exhibitions in galleries, museums and art centers
throughout the United States. She is included in the Johnson & Johnson
Corporate Collection. Betty has been actively involved in the New York
art scene for many years; working with numerous non-profit organizations
including over six years with ATOA.

Please join me and our board in welcoming Sara, Molly and Betty to their
new posts and starting a new season.

See you on Friday evenings.
