Post-Crisis Aesthetics

Panelists explore how the economic crisis has affected art, its production and display. Are we experiencing a paradigm shift, and if so, what is the impact? Has the collapse emancipated or restrained the production of art?

Artist in Conversation:
Janaina Tschäpe

New York based Brazilian and German artist, "Janaina Tschäpe shares her forename with a Brazilian water goddess, and, not coincidentally, her photographs and performances-to-video feature sumptuously organic, watery, distorted female figures," writes Frieze. Janaina Tschäpe deftly exploits and subverts notions of identity and reality in her work. Janaina Tschäpe will give a presentation concerning her work, followed by a conversation with Peter Duhon, and Q&A with audience.
