Critic and historian Irving Sandler is author of several books including, most recently, "A Sweeper Up After Artists." Sandler has been a vital presence in the New York art world for more than fifty years. A expert on the New York School and Abstract expressionism, Sandler was a founding board member of ATOA and has served on boards of other arts institutions including Artists Space. Vernita Nemec, a.k.a. Vernita N'Cognita, is an a performance and visual artist and director of the Viridian Gallery in Chelsea. She was executive director and president of ATOA for nine years.
