Bhavsar left India in 1962 for the Univ. of Penn's Dept. of Fine Arts. In 1965,
he received a Rockefeller Grant and became a member of the NY School of colorists
here he painted with Adolf Gottlieb, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman. Art critic
Ivring Sandler wrote, " His paintings were not an exercise in pictoral problem
solving but a vehicle of spiritual expression.

The panel will explore practices in sound art and contemporary music in relationship to the activity of the invited panelists. The moderator will use 'Echoes from the mountains- Suoni in alta quota' a sound art project realized in the Turin winter Olympic Games, as a introduction to this fascinating and yet to many unknown artistic discipline.
