Lebanese-American Artists: The Impact of War on Art The panel focuses on the intimate connection between art and war. Sumayyah Samaha's art work is influenced by the direct response to the destruction of war in Iraq and Palestine Mariam Ghani investigates how history and memory are constructed and emerge as stories told in translation expressed in video, installations, photography, text and public performance. John Jurayj's work explores complex layering and dismembering of memory and place. | |

Staller is a world renowed photographer, whose exhibitons have been shown in museums
such as the International Center of Photography, The Brooklyn Museum and The High Museum
of Art. He also has works in the Collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art,
The Corcoran Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art.

Nelson Hancock presents three extraordinary, internationally famous photographers and
their work. Nelson received a PhD in 2001 from Columbia University in visual and cultural
anthropology. He is also a successful fine art and commercial photographer and is on the
faculty at the Pratt Institute of Design.
