Needless to say, ATOA faces the same hostile economy that you all do, except with an even more limited budget, if that can be imagined. Which means we must really watch our pennies. That said, we are offering some really wonderful panels this semester that we warmly invite you to attend. And, already working on the plans for next fall. And, against tough odds making steady progress in preserving the 'oral history' archive of the 33 years of A-V materials, that has captured the words and images of over 6,000 artists, now comprising more than 1,000 programs. That archive keeps growing.
So, let me say, that like no period before, ATOA needs your support in whatever way you can manage to provide it. Donations help, regardless of the size, and are tax deductible. Become a passholder member. Volunteer your time. Help plan a panel. Contribute your equipment or materials. And, if you are lucky enough to be sitting on some substantial money, consider buying the naming rights for the whole A-V archive. But, reach out and extend your support. Contact me or any board member you may know. Or, simply join us on a Friday evening at SVA and say hello.
