With the advent of 2018, ATOA has reached the start of its 43rd year of presenting artists and other art world members in panels and dialogs.

As part of our Spring/spring semester of talks we will feature a postcard art benefit fundraiser called Going Postal ™, to be held at the historic Salmagundi Club, 47 Fifth Avenue at 12th Street, on March 27th with a preview beginning at 5:00PM and the sale at 6:30PM through 9:00PM. We expect to display hundreds of works. Additionally, there will be a raffle as part of the event, that will feature several pieces of higher value art to win.

Art postcards may be mailed (postmarked by February 16th) to us arrive no later than Tuesday, February 20th or dropped off on that date. See ‘Spring schedule’ for details and forms. Artists contributing postcards are admitted free.

People wishing to attend Going Postal and purchase postcards to add to their collections may do so at a ticket price of only $50.00 (see also the Spring schedule) and postcards may be bought for only $85.00 at the sale.

The event fundraising is designed to help us retire over $20,000 in debt incurred while digitizing the nearly 1,000 recordings of more than 6,000 artists and their related materials in preparation for delivery to Archives of American Art of the Smithsonian Institution where our archive now resides in a highly accessible manner in the public domain. None of the proceeds benefit A of AA or the Smithsonian. ATOA is a tax exempt 501C3 not-for-profit and your donations or ticket and art purchases may be deductible within the limits proscribed by the tax code and applicable laws. Consult your tax advisor.

I look forward to seeing you at a panel this Spring and spring and at the exciting Going Postal benefit and postcard sale at the Salmagundi Club, March 27th.

But, mainly, your help will be appreciated as it goes to support a very worthwhile cause. And, your dollars are part of a lasting historic legacy for not only ATOA but the 6,000+ artists and their families.
