Amy Ernst is an artist and member of the ATOA Board of
Directors.
She has participated in several ATOA panels which you can find by entering her name in our
search engine.
Ernst is a fourth generation painter. Her background is varied: from Emerson College studying Set-Design for Regional Theatre and Opera, to Indiana University to work on her Masters in Arts Administration, with a minor in Painting and Printmaking. She describes her work as, "painted collages, photo collages and box constructions." Her work has been influenced by her photographs from her travels, the Renaissance, and Surrealism. Just in the last five years the computer has crept into her work, however it is her hand in the images not the computers'. Her exhbitions have varied from New York to Morocco, London, Sweden and Spain. North Carolina is now added to the list: Charles Jones, owner and director of the Carteret Contemporary Art Gallery, Morehead City, N.C. will exhibit over 40 works, from August l6th for a month. Ernst has been involved with Artist Talk On Art since l986 and has been a board member since l988. She has put together many panels, including "Impossible Landscapes of the Mind," "Surrealism in New York, Connecticut and Long Island" and one on Joseph Cornell. |
